Andrea Cyr, DO, FAAPMR, CAQSM
Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation
I am a DO, FAAPMR, and CAQSM with 9 years of experience in my field.
What I find most rewarding about my work is seeing positive outcomes in my patients and helping them return to meaningful activities.
My approach to patient care is rooted in looking at each condition with a fresh perspective, regardless of how long it has been present, with the goal of identifying and addressing the underlying cause. I believe in shared decision-making and view the physician-patient relationship as a collaborative partnership. Through open communication, transparency, and mutual trust, I work with my patients to develop individualized care plans that support recovery and long-term health.
One of the most memorable experiences in my career has been serving as an on-site physician for the National Veteran Wheelchair Games over multiple years. It has been an honor to support these athletes in activities that are both meaningful and deeply important to them.
I stay up to date by remaining active in professional organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. These provide access to current research, educational lectures, conferences, and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues. I also stay current through health-focused podcasts and physician forums, which offer valuable insights and new ways to engage within my specialty.
I attended medical school at the University of New England in my home state of Maine. I then completed my Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by a Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Illinois Chicago, where I remained on faculty and served as a team physician for NCAA athletics.
At Renova Total Health, I look forward to developing individualized treatment plans and offering accessible, effective regenerative treatment options such as platelet-rich plasma injections and prolotherapy. I am committed to guiding patients through recovery with education and ensuring they feel informed at every step of the rehabilitation process.
